The birds are decorating the forest tree with cranberries, holly, and poinsettia on a snowy night. Bear, deer, raccoons, rabbits and a fox look on in wonder.

This quilt is the fourth one I've designed. For the first time I used free motion machine quilting (A.K.A. 'threadplay'} to create the look of pine needles and branches on the tree. In addition, I experimented with a form of 'trapunto' by padding each animal with extra batting. The effect brings an extra dimension to the scene.
