Window on New England The free-flowing lace curtains and silk flowers in a vase on the sill help to create the effect of looking out on to a New England scene. The boarder has a country wallpaper feel to it. The white steepled church nestled in the autumn trees remind me of New Hampshire and Vermont. Deer graze by the wooded pond.- CLV |
"What a fun piece! Love the curtain and the flowers are wonderful! I feel that you have achieved your desired perspective with the objects seen through the window. Great!" - Chris P.(member of QuiltArt)
"I think your quilt has a lot to offer...to get the effect of distance (discriminate between the leaves on the overhanging tree and the distant hills) you might need to change the value of the hills. Things that are distant will be lighter value, softer due to atmosphere. The contrast with the saturated colors of the overhanging leaves will give you the illusion of depth...The border does look like wallpaper and I wouldn't add a thing to it!" - Anne Berman (member of QuiltArt)
"It is a lovely piece and I can't wait to see it finished." - Patti Neuman (member of QuiltArt)
"My wife dragged me to the Lowell Quilt Festival and I had to call you to tell you I've never seen anything like yours. I think it should win a ribbon!" - Bob M.
